Background: In 1995 the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH) established and began publishing its annual Nordic Research in Music Education Yearbook (Norwegian title: Nordisk musikkpedagogisk forskning: Årbok). Electronically available since 2009, with the 20th edition, it was decided that the yearbook be relaunched as an open access scholarly journal: Nordic Research in Music Education.
